Novo Nordisk began offering a subscription-style Wegovy program on March 31, giving eligible self-pay patients a fixed monthly price through telehealth partners. (novonordisk-us.com) The company said the program launched with Ro, WeightWatchers and LifeMD, with Hims & Hers, Sesame and other telehealth providers expected to join later. Novo Nordisk described it as a multi-month subscription for FDA-approved Wegovy. (managedhealthcareexecutive.com) Novo Nordisk said the offer advertises savings of up to $1,200 a year for injections. Its current NovoCare pricing page lists $349 a month for most Wegovy injection doses after an introductory two-fill offer, and $399 a month for Wegovy HD 7.2 mg. (novonordisk-us.com) (novocare.com) On the pill, Novo Nordisk’s clinician-facing pricing page lists self-pay savings at $149 a month for 1.5 mg and 4 mg doses, and $299 a month for 9 mg and 25 mg doses. The company says the lower-dose pill offer can save patients up to $600 a year. (novomedlink.com) (novonordisk-us.com) GoodRx has been selling oral Wegovy at a $149 monthly cash price through affiliated pharmacies since early January, shortly after the Food and Drug Administration approved the pill for weight management. GoodRx’s current coupon page still lists Wegovy prices starting at $149. (drugtopics.com) (goodrx.com) The pricing shift comes after Novo Nordisk cut U.S. list prices for Wegovy, Ozempic and Rybelsus on February 24, 2026. The company has also added direct pharmacy and telehealth channels as it tries to reach cash-paying patients outside traditional insurance coverage. (novonordisk-us.com) (prnewswire.com) Wegovy is semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 drug that helps patients lose weight by reducing appetite and slowing stomach emptying. Novo Nordisk says the injectable version is also approved to lower the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults with obesity and known heart disease. (wegovy.com) (prnewswire.com) Drugmakers and pharmacy platforms have been testing cash-pay and subscription models as demand for obesity drugs outpaced insurance coverage and pushed patients toward coupons, telehealth clinics and direct delivery. Medscape reported that some experts see the new Wegovy program as a lower-cost option for self-pay users, while also warning that telehealth-centered prescribing can fragment care. (medscape.com) (managedhealthcareexecutive.com) For patients paying cash, the immediate change is simpler than the pricing history: Novo Nordisk is trying to turn a high-cost prescription into a recurring monthly bill that looks more like a subscription.
