Hong Kong’s trade fair buzz

The April 2026 Global Sources Hong Kong Show Phase I opened April 11 at AsiaWorld‑Expo and runs through April 14, bundling three major trade shows under one roof. Thousands of overseas buyers landed in Hong Kong this weekend for the first phase of Global Sources’ April 2026 trade shows at AsiaWorld-Expo. (prnewswire.com) The four-day event opened on April 11 and runs through April 14, bringing together three shows focused on gaming, consumer electronics and electronic components under one roof near Hong Kong International Airport. (prnewswire.com; asiaworld-expo.com) Global Sources said Phase I is projected to draw more than 60,000 professional business-to-business buyers, and said more than 40 percent are coming from Europe and the United States. The company also said the show has more than 4,000 booths, over 2,000 suppliers and about 150,000 products on display. (prnewswire.com) This is one slice of a longer April exhibition run. Global Sources schedules three Hong Kong phases this month: April 11 to 14, April 18 to 21, and April 27 to 30. (globalsources.com) The setup matters to Hong Kong because trade fairs are part of its meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions business, which the Hong Kong Tourism Board has been trying to rebuild with more large events and restored flight capacity. In April 2025, the government said the board had attracted 56 large-scale events for that year. (info.gov.hk) AsiaWorld-Expo’s location helps explain the tourism spillover. The venue has its own Airport Express station, sits a two-minute ride from Airport Station, and connects to central Hong Kong in about 28 minutes. (asiaworld-expo.com; mtr.com.hk) The product mix also shows what buyers are coming to source now: gaming gear, batteries, power supplies, automotive electronics, computer peripherals and other hardware categories tied to Asian manufacturing supply chains. (prnewswire.com; asiaworld-expo.com) Global Sources has run Hong Kong shows in April and October for years, and its exhibitions business says it has staged trade shows since 2003. This month’s turnout will be a direct test of how much in-person sourcing demand has returned to the city in 2026. (globalsources.com; exhibitions.globalsources.com)
