Bills Land DJ Moore

The Buffalo Bills are finalizing a deal to acquire wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears. The trade gives Josh Allen a proven playmaker to replace Stefon Diggs, with analysts debating whether Buffalo gave up too much. The move signals an aggressive push to stay competitive in the AFC.

To complete the deal, Buffalo sent a 2026 second-round draft pick to Chicago, receiving Moore and a 2026 fifth-round selection in return. The trade clears significant salary cap space for the Bears, who will free up $16.5 million ahead of the 2026 free agency period. Moore is coming off a down year in which he posted career lows with 50 catches for 682 yards, though he did score seven touchdowns. This dip in production followed a career-best 1,364 receiving yards in 2023, after which his role changed with the emergence of younger receivers in Chicago. The move reunites Moore with new Bills head coach Joe Brady. Brady served as Moore's offensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, where Moore topped 1,100 receiving yards both years. Buffalo takes on Moore's substantial contract, which runs through the 2029 season. His base salaries for 2026 and 2027 are fully guaranteed at $23.5 million each, and the Bills also guaranteed $15.5 million of his 2028 salary, signaling a long-term commitment. For Chicago, the trade elevates younger receivers like Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III into primary roles. The Bears now have added draft capital and financial flexibility to build around their young offensive core. The Bills have been searching for a definitive No. 1 wide receiver since trading Stefon Diggs to Houston two years ago. Last season, the team's leading receiver was Khalil Shakir, who finished the year with 719 yards.
