Escalating tensions in the Gulf region, involving missile and drone attacks, have cast serious doubt on the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix. The Bahrain GP, scheduled for April 12 at the Sakhir circuit, is considered highly unlikely to proceed if the security situation doesn't improve. Iran has launched missile and drone attacks against several targets across the region, including locations in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Aramco, a major F1 partner and Aston Martin sponsor, has an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia that was reportedly struck. Logistics are also a major concern, as freight is scheduled to arrive in Bahrain first before moving to Saudi Arabia. A recent Pirelli tire test planned in Bahrain was also canceled due to security concerns. If one race is canceled, the other will likely follow, and the championship calendar could drop from 24 to 22 events. This would create a five-week gap between the Suzuka and Miami races. Imola is among the possible reserve options if Bahrain or Saudi Arabia are canceled.
