New Edition Extends Tour
New Edition extended "The Way" arena tour with six more dates, bringing Boyz II Men and Toni Braxton along for the shows. This powerhouse R&B lineup promises nostalgic energy and vocal fireworks for classic soul fans.
This tour extension follows New Edition's successful "The Culture Tour" in 2022, which featured Charlie Wilson and Jodeci and was the group's first major tour since 2014. That 30-city tour marked a significant return for the six-member group, covering major cities across the U.S. The addition of Boyz II Men to the lineup brings together two generations of R&B royalty. New Edition is considered a blueprint for the modern boy band, paving the way for groups that followed. Boyz II Men, who were discovered by New Edition member Michael Bivins, went on to become the best-selling R&B group of all time. Boyz II Men's inclusion is a nod to their history, as their name was inspired by a New Edition song. Throughout their career, Boyz II Men have won four Grammy Awards, nine American Music Awards, and are known for record-breaking hits like "End of the Road" and "I'll Make Love to You." Toni Braxton adds her iconic voice to this powerhouse lineup. A seven-time Grammy winner, Braxton has sold over 70 million records worldwide. Her catalog of hits includes "Un-Break My Heart," "Breathe Again," and "You're Makin' Me High." This tour brings all six members of New Edition back to the stage: Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant, and Johnny Gill. The group, which formed in 1978, was honored with a BET Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. The collaboration of these three acts represents a significant moment for R&B fans, showcasing artists who have collectively shaped the genre over decades with numerous awards and chart-topping hits.
