Tina Baker Celebrates Thriller Anniversary
Tina Baker celebrated the 5-year publication anniversary of her debut thriller *Call Me Mummy*, which trended and hit #1 bestseller status after 48 hours of non-stop promotion when first released. The intense narrative thriller remains a fan favorite and demonstrates the lasting appeal of psychological suspense novels. Baker's milestone highlights the sustained success possible in the competitive thriller market.
*Call Me Mummy* was inspired by author Tina Baker's own experiences with infertility. Before becoming a novelist, Baker was a long-time journalist and broadcaster, known as a television critic for the BBC and GMTV. She was also the winner of the reality TV show *Celebrity Fit Club*. The novel explores the complex psychological themes of motherhood and moral ambiguity. The plot centers on a glamorous woman who kidnaps a child from a mother she deems unfit, only to find the young girl isn't the perfect daughter she imagined. The narrative is told from the perspectives of both the kidnapper and the child's mother. The book delves into how the media portrays victims, with the fictional mother, Kim, being demonized as a "scummy mummy" who deserved to have her child taken. This media scrutiny and public judgment play a central role in the story's development. Since her debut, Baker has published several other thrillers with Viper Books, including *Nasty Little Cuts*, *Make Me Clean*, and *What We Did in the Storm*. Her books have been translated into multiple languages, including Polish, Czech, and Estonian, and are also published in the United States and Canada. Baker has other projects in development, including a tragi-comedy titled *Floss, The Girl Who Ran Away From the Circus*.
