Mike Sommerfeld Shares Arnold Prep
Bodybuilder Mike Sommerfeld shared his intense push-day workout just days before defending his 2026 Arnold Classic title. The routine blends heavy presses, isolation movements, and advanced techniques for maximum muscle activation at the elite level.
The German-born bodybuilder is entering the 2026 Arnold Classic as the reigning champion, having secured his first victory in the prestigious event in 2025. He defeated Logan Franklin and Matthew Greggo, who placed second and third, respectively. His 2025 win came after a significant breakthrough at the 2024 Mr. Olympia, where he placed second behind the division's dominant champion, Chris Bumstead. This runner-up finish had already solidified his position as a top contender in the Classic Physique division. Known as "Mike the Badass," Sommerfeld began his competitive journey in 2014 at the amateur Arnold Classic Europe. He turned pro in 2019, initially competing in the 212 division before finding his stride and success in Classic Physique. Sommerfeld, who was influenced by his father, a former IFBB athlete himself, is also a certified performance coach. He often emphasizes a strong mind-muscle connection in his training, sometimes closing his eyes during sets to enhance focus.
