Library Juice Academy, launched in 2012, provides online professional development for librarians and archivists. The academy is part of Litwin Books, LLC, which also includes Library Juice Press, a publisher of books and journals on library and information science. These courses offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and focus on practical skills often expected to be learned on the job. Most courses last four weeks and require about 15 hours of work, taught asynchronously to accommodate different schedules. "Embedded Librarianship in Online Courses" addresses the increasing need for librarians to integrate into online learning environments. Embedded librarians collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, and students to improve information literacy. "Introduction to Open Educational Resources" covers materials available for free use, adaptation, and distribution. OERs can include full courses, textbooks, and streaming videos, reducing barriers to education. These resources often use Creative Commons licenses.
