SXSW, celebrating its 40th anniversary, has implemented a new "clubhouse" model this year, embedding programming hubs throughout Austin. This is due to the demolition of the Austin Convention Center, a longtime festival hub, which is being replaced with a new facility slated to open in 2029. The goal is to further integrate the festival into the city. The All-American Rejects, who are making their first-ever SXSW appearance, will be sharing insights from their sold-out House Party Tour, where they reimagined live music by performing in backyards and skateparks. Once part of the major label system, the band is now fully independent, writing, recording, and releasing music on their own. Their SXSW appearance includes performances on March 12. The SXSW Block Party, formerly known as the Registrant Lounge, is free and open to the public at 900 Congress Ave from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. It offers complimentary drinks, food, and sponsor merchandise. Orville Peck performed there on March 14.
