Ultra Expands Globally for 2026
Ultra Music Festival unveiled its 2026 'Ultra Worldwide' calendar with events confirmed across South Africa, Australia, Peru, and Europe. This global expansion solidifies Ultra's position as a leader in international electronic music experiences beyond its Miami flagship event.
- The 2026 edition of Ultra South Africa will take place on Saturday, April 25th in Johannesburg at the Expo Centre at Nasrec, and Sunday, April 26th in Cape Town at The Ostrich. The lineup will feature headliners like DJ Snake, Axwell, and a back-to-back set from Afrojack and R3hab. - Ultra Australia is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Melbourne's Flemington Racecourse and Sunday, April 12, on the Gold Coast at Broadwater Parklands. The initial lineup announced includes The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Zedd, and Oliver Heldens. - The European installment, Ultra Europe, is set for July 10-12, 2026, at Mladeži Park in Split, Croatia. This event has a significant economic impact on the local Split-Dalmatia County, increasing revenue for food, drink, and taxi services during the festival. - Ultra Peru is confirmed for May 2, 2026, and will be held at the Multiespacio Area Costa in Lima. - The global expansion of Ultra is a long-standing strategy, with Ultra South Africa being one of the longest-running international editions, having debuted in 2014 and attracting over 40,000 attendees in its first year. - Ultra Australia first launched as a one-day "Road to Ultra" event in Melbourne in 2018 before expanding to a full-scale festival. - Many of the global festivals, including the flagship Miami event, feature a dedicated "Resistance" stage, which is Ultra's brand for house and techno music. In 2025, Resistance celebrated its 10th anniversary with a world tour that included standalone events and festival stages across multiple continents. - The flagship Ultra Music Festival in Miami, which started in 1999, provides the blueprint for its international editions with large-scale production and a diverse lineup of electronic artists.
