Cathay expands transpacific

Cathay Pacific has launched nonstop A350 service between Hong Kong and Seattle (announced Mar 30), expanding access from the U.S. West Coast to Asia and easing travel for business and leisure flows. Cathay’s new Hong Kong–Seattle service is scheduled as flight CX852/CX853 with departures from HKG at 13:30 (arriving SEA at 10:10) and returns from SEA at 11:50 (arriving HKG 16:45+1) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday through the 30 March–31 May 2026 season. (news.cathaypacific.com) The carrier will operate the route with Airbus A350‑900 equipment offering fully flat Business beds, Premium Economy and Economy cabins, and Seattle is listed as Cathay’s ninth North American passenger destination as part of a network that will exceed 110 weekly North America return flights in 2026. (news.cathaypacific.com) Cathay originally launched the Seattle nonstop in March 2019, suspended it at the pandemic’s outset and had classified the market as cut in late 2020 before deciding to reinstate the link for March 30, 2026. (onemileatatime.com) For London, Cathay filed four additional round‑trip HKG–LHR services for April 2026, increasing the off‑peak monthly frequency from 32 to 35 weekly between 2 April and 30 April 2026. (aeroroutes.com) The extra London services are scheduled under flight numbers CX2251/CX2252 on 4 April, 9 April, 11 April and 18 April (with return legs listed on the same dates), according to the airline’s filings. (aeroroutes.com) Cathay’s April Europe capacity plan also shows selective deployment of larger Boeing 777‑300ER equipment on HKG–LHR days to add seat capacity alongside A350 rotations.
