Fincons Earns AWS Competency
- Fincons Group earned AWS Media & Entertainment Competency, recognising its cloud expertise for media customers. - The certification signals capability in cloud-native, broadcast-grade operations and media workloads on AWS. - The milestone suggests specialised cloud implementation partners remain a market differentiator for media-technology projects (tvnewscheck.com).
Fincons Group said on April 17 it had earned Amazon Web Services’ Media & Entertainment Competency, a partner certification for companies building media systems on AWS. (finconsgroup.com) The designation places Fincons among AWS partners that have passed a technical review for media workloads such as broadcast, content production, direct-to-consumer distribution, archives, and analytics. AWS says competency partners are validated through use cases, best-practice checks, and review by AWS solution architects. (aws.amazon.com) Fincons said the credential covers its work helping media customers adopt, develop, and deploy complex cloud projects on AWS. TVNewsCheck reported the company is showing those AWS-based media products at the NAB Show in Las Vegas through April 22 at Booth W2467. (finconsgroup.com) (tvnewscheck.com) For broadcasters and streaming companies, “cloud-native” usually means replacing dedicated on-site hardware with software that runs in remote data centers and can scale up or down as demand changes. AWS launched its Media & Entertainment Competency in April 2023 as a way for customers to identify partners that can handle those migrations and live-media operations. (aws.amazon.com 1) (aws.amazon.com 2) The timing lines up with a media industry still moving core systems into the cloud while trying to keep broadcast reliability. AWS describes the partner category as covering “lens-to-glass” workflows — from production through distribution to analytics — rather than a single software tool. (aws.amazon.com) Fincons has been building out that pitch for years. The company says it has worked in media for more than 40 years, became an AWS Select Consulting Partner in 2018, and runs an AWS competence center with more than 100 experts from Bari, Italy. (finconsgroup.com) Its recent media positioning has also centered on distribution and advertising technology. Fincons and MainStreaming said in June 2024 that they were expanding a strategic partnership around media delivery, while ATSC’s NAB exhibitor listing this month highlighted Fincons products for rights management, metadata, over-the-top video, NextGen TV, and dynamic ad insertion. (prnewswire.com) (atsc.org) AWS competencies are not exclusive to one vendor, and other media-tech firms have used the same badge to market their own cloud credentials. But for systems integrators like Fincons, the value is in showing broadcasters and streamers that a third party has already vetted their media-specific AWS work. (aws.amazon.com) (vubiquity.com) Fincons’ announcement does not change AWS’s product lineup or pricing. It gives the company a new credential to carry into NAB meetings and future bids for media migration, operations, and delivery projects. (finconsgroup.com) (tvnewscheck.com)
