Pricer to Showcase New Shelf-Edge Platform
Pricer will showcase its new Pricer Avenue™ communications platform at the EuroShop 2026 trade show in Germany. The company announced the platform is designed to deliver high-impact experiences at the retail shelf-edge. The event takes place from February 22-26 in Düsseldorf.
- Pricer Avenue is designed for targeted deployment in high-margin categories and promotional zones rather than as a complete, store-wide replacement for all electronic shelf labels (ESLs). - The system is built around a battery-free, powered rail that delivers continuous power and data connectivity, eliminating the need for batteries in the labels themselves. This infrastructure is designed to support future IoT devices and sensors at the shelf edge. - A key feature is the "Floating Canvas," which allows multiple labels to be visually linked, creating larger, dynamic displays for brand storytelling or promotional content. - The platform integrates with Pricer Plaza, the company's cloud-native management software, for centralized control of pricing and promotional campaigns. - Pricer, founded in Sweden in 1991, is a long-standing player in the market and utilizes optical wireless (infrared) communication for its systems, which it cites as fast and robust. - The company's CEO is Magnus Larsson, who was appointed President and CEO in December 2022 after serving as acting CEO. - The global market for electronic shelf labels was valued at over $1.95 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow, driven by retail automation and the need for dynamic pricing. Europe represents a significant portion of this market, accounting for over 42% of the global share in 2024. - The commercial launch of Pricer Avenue follows successful pilot programs, including one with the UK-based retailer East of England Co-op, which used the platform in high-value store zones.
