Tredence to Hire 1,800 in Hyderabad

Data analytics and AI firm Tredence announced plans to hire 1,800 new employees in Hyderabad over the next two years. The expansion reflects continued growth in the region's technology and data science talent market.

- Tredence was founded in 2013 by Shub Bhowmick, Sumit Mehra, and Shashank Dubey. Bhowmick and Dubey were colleagues at Mu Sigma, a prominent Indian analytics firm, before leaving to start Tredence, initially funding the company with revenues from their first client deal. - The company has raised a total of $205 million over two rounds, including a $30 million Series A in 2020 and a $175 million Series B round in late 2022 led by private equity firm Advent International. - The Hyderabad expansion includes a new 20,000 sq. ft. delivery and innovation center in Nanakramguda, which will focus on serving global clients in life sciences, healthcare, and retail. - This move will grow the company's local workforce from approximately 400 employees to over 2,200 by 2027, focusing on roles in data science, data engineering, MLOps, and Generative AI. - The expansion is part of a broader trend of companies establishing Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in Hyderabad, which has become a major hub for AI and life sciences talent. - Tredence's business model focuses on solving the "last-mile problem in AI," which is the gap between generating data insights and creating tangible business value from them. - The company provides services in areas like supply chain management, customer experience (CX) analytics, and MLOps for large enterprises in sectors including retail, CPG, and high-tech. - This hiring initiative is part of a larger plan to increase Tredence's total India workforce from 2,500 to 4,000 by mid-2025, following recent expansions in Pune and Kolkata.
