Busta Rhymes Announces J Dilla Album

Busta Rhymes announced "Dillagence 2," a forthcoming full album produced by the late J Dilla. The project marks Busta's return to his "crate digging" roots and is highly anticipated by fans of both artists. This follows other recent hip-hop releases including new Friday drops from SZA with "Save The Day," Yebba's "yellow eyes," and Yung Miami's "Tea Time."

- The upcoming album is a sequel to a 2007 mixtape titled "Dillagence," which was also a collaboration between Busta Rhymes and DJ Mick Boogie, released as a tribute to J Dilla after his passing in 2006. - J Dilla, who passed away in 2006 from a rare blood disease, is considered one of hip-hop's most influential producers, known for his signature "drunk" style of drum programming that avoided quantization for a more human feel. - Before his death, J Dilla entrusted Busta Rhymes with a significant number of unreleased beats, with some reports suggesting over 300. Busta Rhymes has been selective about how these beats are used, having previously shared some with Raekwon for his "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Part Two" album. - SZA's new song, "Save The Day," is featured on the soundtrack for the Disney-Pixar film "Hoppers." The film's directors were inspired to reach out to SZA after using her songs "Good Days" and "Saturn" as temporary tracks in the movie's credits. - Yebba's single, "yellow eyes," is the lead track from her forthcoming sophomore album, "Jean," which is named after her late grandmother. This marks her first solo release in two and a half years. - Yung Miami's "Tea Time" was released on February 20th and follows her previous single from nearly a year ago. A snippet of the track went viral on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram prior to its official release, building significant anticipation.
