YC names youngest GP, Harshita Arora
Harshita Arora, founder of fintech startup AtoB, has joined Y Combinator as its youngest general partner at 25, with YC highlighting her fintech and infrastructure experience. Media coverage framed the hire as YC elevating an operator with domain credibility rather than a media personality. (moneycontrol.com) (indiatoday.in)
Y Combinator said on April 6 that Harshita Arora had joined the firm as a general partner, making the 25-year-old its youngest in that role. (ycombinator.com) Y Combinator President Garry Tan said Arora had been a visiting partner since the Summer 2025 batch, when she also became the accelerator’s youngest visiting partner. The firm said she will work directly with founders “at every stage of their companies’ evolution.” (ycombinator.com 1) (ycombinator.com 2) Arora is best known as a cofounder of AtoB, a Y Combinator Summer 2020 startup that builds payments software for trucking fleets in the United States. AtoB says it was founded in 2019 to modernize fuel payments, payroll, taxes, and accounting for the fleet industry. (ycombinator.com) (atob.com) That background helps explain the hire. Y Combinator described Arora as bringing “deep fintech and infrastructure experience,” alongside product instincts shaped by building companies since her teens. (ycombinator.com) General partners at Y Combinator help decide which startups get funded and then advise founders through the batch and after Demo Day. Y Combinator says it invests $500,000 in each selected startup and continues helping companies after the three-month program ends. (ycombinator.com) Arora’s path into Silicon Valley started well before AtoB. Y Combinator said she learned coding at 13, left school at 15 to pursue it full time, and by 16 had built Crypto Price Tracker, an app that Apple featured and that was later acquired. (ycombinator.com) Y Combinator also said Arora received India’s Bal Shakti Puraskar, then got an O-1 visa and moved to San Francisco before cofounding AtoB. Recent coverage in India has traced that arc from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, to the Bay Area. (ycombinator.com) (indiatoday.in) AtoB had already made Arora one of the more visible operators in financial technology. Forbes wrote in late 2025 that the company served more than 24,000 American trucking companies and had raised $230 million in equity and debt funding. (forbes.com) The appointment also fits Y Combinator’s long-running pattern of pulling former founders into partner roles. Its October 2025 announcement for visiting partners said those roles are typically for former founders taking time between companies to advise startups during a batch. (ycombinator.com) For Arora, the move shifts her from founder inside the Y Combinator network to one of the people shaping it. For Y Combinator, it puts a Summer 2020 alum with fintech and infrastructure experience on the team selecting and coaching the next class of startups. (ycombinator.com)
