B2PRIME Secures Bahamas Digital Asset Licenses
Global financial services provider B2PRIME Group has obtained two licenses from the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (SCB). The firm says the move is a key step toward offering regulated trading solutions in the digital assets field for institutional and professional clients.
The new licenses fall under The Bahamas' Digital Assets and Registered Exchanges (DARE) Act. This comprehensive framework was recently updated in 2024 to enhance investor protection and address the evolving crypto landscape, partly in response to the collapse of FTX, which had previously moved its operations to the island nation. B2PRIME's move makes it one of the players operating within this stringent regulatory environment, which governs everything from cryptocurrency exchanges and digital wallets to token issuance and staking services. The DARE Act is administered by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (SCB), which is responsible for licensing and overseeing all digital asset businesses. The firm secured two specific authorizations: license number DARE-DAB-034 under the DARE Act and license SIA-F259 under the Securities Industry Act. This dual licensing allows the company to offer trading in a range of digital asset products while also adhering to traditional securities regulations. For institutional and professional clients, this provides a regulated pathway to access crypto market liquidity, including Crypto Spot and Perpetual Futures. The Founder & Executive Director of B2PRIME Group is Eugenia Mykuliak, and the Chief Strategy Officer is Alex Tsepaev. This expansion into The Bahamas adds another jurisdiction to B2PRIME's existing regulatory approvals, which include licenses in Cyprus (CySEC), Dubai (DFSA), South Africa (FSCA), Mauritius (FSC), and Seychelles (FSA). The Bahamas has been actively working to position itself as a hub for digital assets by creating a clear legal structure for the industry. This contrasts with the regulatory uncertainty in other financial centers, attracting firms that require a solid compliance foundation for their digital asset operations.
