Tim Weaver Releases 15th Thriller
Bestselling author Tim Weaver has released *The Lost Women*, his 15th David Raker novel, available in hardback, paperback, ebook, and audio formats. In a podcast interview, Weaver explained the plot intertwines two cases: three women who vanished 18 years ago while filming a documentary on a mysterious sand-covered island, and a husband who disappears from a private London hospital.
The David Raker series began in 2010 with *Chasing the Dead*, introducing the former journalist who becomes a missing persons investigator. Raker's backstory involves leaving his career to care for his terminally ill wife; the first book opens a year after her death. A recurring character in the series is the enigmatic ex-cop Colm Healy, who often serves as an ally to Raker. The books are best read in publication order to follow the development of Raker's personal story and his evolving relationships. Tim Weaver's work has seen significant commercial success, with multiple books in the series becoming Top 10 *Sunday Times* bestsellers. Several of his novels have been selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club, a popular and influential reading list in the UK. The series and Weaver have also been critically recognized, with nominations for the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger and a shortlisting for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year for *The Last Goodbye*. Weaver was also longlisted for the Crime Writers' Association Dagger in the Library Award in 2015. Beyond the Raker series, Weaver wrote a standalone psychological thriller titled *Missing Pieces* (2021). He also hosts the award-winning podcast *Missing*, which explores real-life disappearance cases and has garnered over 500,000 listeners. Weaver is currently developing multiple TV projects, including an original series with the production company of *Line of Duty* creator Jed Mercurio and an adaptation with the creative team behind *Sherlock*.
