Black Flag remaster date

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered is scheduled to arrive on July 9, giving fans a fixed date to plan for a return to pirate-era open-world play. (x.com) The remaster was listed among several rumored and confirmed catalog additions publishers are pushing this season. (x.com)

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is reportedly set to launch on July 9, 2026, nearly 13 years after the original pirate entry debuted. (gamespot.com) Ubisoft has not publicly posted that date on its own site as of April 18, but the company did confirm the project exists in March by publishing concept art and naming it “Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced.” IGN reported the July 9 date this week, citing a leak ahead of a fuller reveal. (ign.com 1) (ign.com 2) The original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launched in October and November 2013, depending on platform and region. Ubisoft’s current store page still lists Edward Kenway’s Caribbean adventure across PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. (ubisoft.com) Ubisoft’s March franchise update treated Resynced as part of the series’ next phase, alongside Codename Hexe, Codename Invictus, and the wind-down of major support for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. GameSpot said Ubisoft head of content Jean Guesdon included Black Flag Resynced in that roadmap update. (gamespot.com) The timing also lines up with Ubisoft’s broader reset. In January, the publisher said it was overhauling its structure, delaying some games, canceling others, and revising its three-year roadmap after what it called a more selective and competitive market for big-budget releases. (ubisoft.com) (staticctf.ubisoft.com) That context helps explain why Black Flag keeps resurfacing. The 2013 game remains one of the series’ most popular entries, and Ubisoft still markets it around its naval combat, 50 Caribbean locations, and historical pirate cast including Blackbeard, Calico Jack, and Benjamin Hornigold. (ubisoft.com) Reports on the remake point to more than a simple resolution bump. IGN said earlier coverage described visual and gameplay upgrades closer to modern Assassin’s Creed production values, plus added story material around Edward Kenway, while some modern-day sections may be removed. (ign.com) The project had been leaking long before this week’s date report. IGN said the “Resynced” name surfaced through a European ratings-board listing in December, after years of rumors and hints from people tied to the original game. (ign.com) If Ubisoft sticks to July 9, the company’s next clear step is an official announcement with platforms, pricing, and the line between “remaster” and “remake” spelled out. Until then, the fixed point is simple: Edward Kenway appears headed back to sea this summer. (ign.com)
