Educator Hub for Neurodiversity Launches
The Neurodiversity Podcast has launched a new professional community called the Educator Hub. Led by Dave Morris and Amanda Morin, the platform offers expert webinars, one-on-one consultations, and networking opportunities for educators and school administrators. The initiative aims to improve classroom environments for neurodivergent students.
- The Neurodiversity Podcast, which launched the hub, was started in 2018 by Emily Kircher-Morris and her husband, Dave Morris; it now has over 300 episodes and receives over 70,000 downloads per month. - Co-leader Amanda Morin was an integral team member in the 2014 launch of Understood.org, a major resource for learning and thinking differences, where she served as director of thought leadership and expertise. - Co-leader Emily Kircher-Morris is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and former teacher who specializes in gifted and twice-exceptional students, a focus of The Neurodiversity Podcast. - Morin and Kircher-Morris are co-authoring a book titled "Neurodiversity-Affirming Schools: Transforming Practices So All Students Feel Accepted and Supported," expected in 2025. - The Educator Hub is an extension of the broader Neurodiversity University, a platform that provides professional development courses on topics such as twice-exceptional education, executive functioning, and dyslexia. - In addition to webinars, the hub offers members one-on-one case consultations with Morin and Kircher-Morris to problem-solve challenges with specific students. - The podcast frequently covers topics relevant to executive function coaching, including emotional dysregulation, motivation strategies for neurodivergent children, and the intersection of ADHD and giftedness.
