Chicago’s One of a Kind Spring Show opens Friday at THE MART, bringing more than 350 artists and makers together for a three-day handmade market. (choosechicago.com) The show runs April 24 through April 26 on the 7th floor of THE MART at 222 Merchandise Mart Plaza. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. (choosechicago.com) Organizers said this year’s edition includes more than 350 jury-selected exhibitors from across North America, including 35 emerging artists and more than 150 new participants. Categories include fine art, home décor, fashion, jewelry, ceramics, photography and gourmet goods. (choosechicago.com) The event is built around direct sales from independent creators rather than mass-market retail. Shoppers can meet exhibitors in person and buy original work on the floor instead of ordering through a chain store or marketplace app. (oneofakindshowchicago.com) That format has expanded beyond a strict handmade definition. The show’s organizers say the 2026 event also includes curated vintage pieces and sustainably upcycled designs alongside artist-designed work. (oneofakindshowchicago.com) Tickets start at $15 for adults 12 and older, are valid for re-entry on all three days, and children under 12 are admitted free. The event site also lists add-on experiences, including a Friday evening reception and a Saturday morning breakfast at THE MART’s SKS Showroom. (choosechicago.com) (oneofakindshowchicago.com) The show floor includes more than shopping. Organizers said the weekend lineup also features live music, artist demonstrations, a Gourmet Market, The Hatchery Pavilion for food entrepreneurs, an Emerging Market for first-time exhibitors and a curated Fine Art Gallery. (choosechicago.com) Getting there is set up for downtown foot traffic and transit. The Merchandise Mart station on Chicago Transit Authority brown and purple lines connects directly into the building, and the event site says more than 5,000 parking spaces sit within a four-block radius.
