Costco Membership Deals Active in March
March is prime time to maximize your Costco membership, with member deals active offering savings on pantry staples and bulk household goods. Special sign-up offers are also available this month.
Costco's membership model fuels its success, with membership fees totaling $5.323 billion in 2025, a 10.3% increase from 2024. These fees account for a significant portion of Costco's profits, representing 65.5% of its net operating income in 2024. As of 2025, Costco boasts 81 million paid member accounts worldwide, with a remarkable renewal rate of nearly 90%. Costco offers different membership tiers: Gold Star ($65/year), Business ($65/year), and Executive ($130/year). The Executive membership provides a 2% annual reward on qualified purchases, capped at $1,250 per year, plus extra benefits on Costco Travel and other services. Executive members sometimes gain exclusive early access to warehouses. Costco's membership base is evolving, with nearly half of new members being under 40. While younger members contribute to growth, they tend to spend less per visit compared to older demographics. To cater to this shift, Costco is implementing targeted communication strategies to improve retention among digitally signed-up members. Beyond bulk goods, Costco members enjoy various perks, including discounted gas, pharmacy services, and optical care. Costco Travel offers discounted rates on hotels, cruises, and rental cars. Members can also access savings on insurance (home, auto, pet, life) and even moving truck rentals. The Fremont Costco, opened in 1988, offers Executive Member hours from 9-10 AM Monday-Friday, and 9-9:30 AM Saturday and Sunday. Gold Star and Business members can enter starting at 10 AM on weekdays and 9:30 AM on Saturdays, and 10 AM on Sundays. The Fremont location also has a gas station, food court, pharmacy, tire service center and optical department. Costco's success extends to its Kirkland Signature brand, with $400 million in annual revenue from Kirkland Signature toilet paper alone. The company's $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, introduced in 1985, has remained a customer favorite for nearly four decades. As of 2025, Costco is the world's largest retailer of beef, poultry, organic produce, and wine.
