SXSW 2026: Malaysian Rapper Zamaera

Malaysian rapper Zamaera is curating the "Made in Malaysia" stage at SXSW 2026 on March 15.

Zamaera is curating the first-ever Malaysian stage at SXSW, called "Made in Malaysia," which takes place March 15 at Las Perlas in Austin. This marks the first time a national Malaysian music showcase has been presented at the festival. The "Made in Malaysia" stage will feature a diverse lineup of Malaysian artists, including R&B vocalist Murty, indie singer-songwriter Zoe Tan, hyperpop and hip-hop artist Lil Asian Thiccie, and electronic producer I-SKY. Texas-based DJ VÖ.A_2000 will open the evening. Zamaera founded Mean Malaya Entertainment, which independently conceived and produced the showcase. She sees the event as an opportunity for the artists to be cultural ambassadors for Malaysia. SXSW 2026 is celebrating its 40th year and will run from March 12-18. The festival will host 4,400 musicians across 300 live showcases.
