Bridge building is shifting toward speed, while road agencies are steering money to the stretches with the highest safety and freight stakes. The American Society of Civil Engineers said on April 13 that the method uses planning, design, materials, and construction techniques that reduce on-site construction time for new bridges, replacements, and rehabilitations.
