Joe Rogan Returns UFC 326
Joe Rogan is returning to the booth for UFC 326 alongside three former UFC champions on the broadcast team. The UFC is leveraging ex-champion expertise to deepen fan experience for one of this year's biggest fight cards. Rogan's comeback ends speculation about his future with the organization after earlier uncertainty this year.
Joe Rogan will be joined in the commentary booth by play-by-play announcer Jon Anik and former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier. This appearance is part of Rogan's contract which primarily sees him commentating on US-based pay-per-view events. The broadcast team will also feature other former champions in various roles. Former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier will be at the weigh-in desk, and former middleweight champion Michael Bisping will serve as a desk analyst on fight night. The main event of UFC 326 features a highly anticipated rematch between former featherweight champion Max Holloway and former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira for the symbolic "BMF" title. Their first fight in 2015 ended abruptly in the first round due to an injury sustained by Oliveira. This event marks a new era for the UFC's broadcasts, as it will be the first to have a portion of the card air on CBS, a result of the new media rights agreement with Paramount. The final hour of the preliminary card and the first hour of the main card will be simulcast on the network. The earlier speculation regarding Rogan's future with the UFC arose during the transition of the promotion's media rights from ESPN to a new multi-billion dollar deal with Paramount. UFC President Dana White had previously assured fans that the core commentary team, including Rogan, would remain unchanged. Rogan himself has a clause in his contract that ties his tenure with the UFC to that of Dana White, stating that he would likely leave if White were to depart from the organization. He first started with the UFC as a backstage interviewer in 1997.
