Lola Young Returns to Stage
After a hiatus to "work on myself," singer-songwriter Lola Young made a triumphant return at the London Palladium, delivering an acclaimed performance that reaffirmed her place as one of the UK's most promising talents.
The singer's break from music followed a public collapse on stage in September 2025 during her set at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York. Following the incident, Young canceled all her scheduled tour dates and public appearances to focus on her mental health and well-being. Prior to the hiatus, the 25-year-old artist had achieved significant career milestones, including winning a Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance for her viral hit "Messy". She was also one of the most nominated artists at the 2026 BRIT Awards, with five nominations including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. A graduate of the prestigious BRIT School, which counts Adele and Amy Winehouse as alumni, Young has been writing songs since she was 11. Her great-aunt is "The Gruffalo" author Julia Donaldson, and her manager, Nick Shymansky, previously managed Amy Winehouse. The London Palladium show was billed as an intimate, one-off performance, intended as a "considered and meaningful step back" into live performing on her own terms. The setlist included fan favorites such as "Messy," "Conceited," and "Don't Hate Me." Following the successful London return, Young is scheduled to embark on a tour in August 2026, with dates across the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tour includes major festival appearances at Reading and Leeds in the UK and Corona Capital in Mexico City.
