Fremont Restaurant Week Kicks Off
Fremont Restaurant Week 2026 is officially underway, offering diners 70 different meal deals and new dishes across the city. The event is designed to spotlight Fremont's diverse culinary options and encourage residents to support local eateries.
This year marks the fourth iteration of the event, which was initially launched in 2023 to help local restaurants recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first Fremont Restaurant Week saw 40 restaurants participate, a number that has grown to 70 for the 2026 event. The event has demonstrated a significant positive impact on participating businesses. Following the 2024 Restaurant Week, a survey revealed that 85% of participating restaurants experienced a boost in foot traffic and 76% saw increased revenues. Consequently, 95% of those establishments expressed a desire to participate again. A new feature for 2026 is a partnership with DoorDash, which will see the launch of "Dot," an all-electric, autonomous delivery robot. The robot, which is manufactured in Fremont, will make its first delivery at the Restaurant Week kickoff event on March 5. The 10-day event, running from March 6 to March 15, includes a wide array of Fremont's diverse culinary scene. Offerings range from multi-course tasting menus at fine dining establishments like SOHO Modern Japanese to special deals from casual favorites, including Indian, Mexican, and Afghan cuisine. To encourage diners to explore various eateries, organizers are bringing back the Restaurant Week Passport. Customers can collect stickers from participating restaurants for a chance to win prizes. In 2024, over 3,000 passports were submitted for the prize drawing.
