Venus onboards Ceffu

Venus Protocol completed onboarding with Ceffu, a move billed as a step to attract institutional capital to BNB Chain DeFi markets (x.com). The integration is presented as part of broader efforts to make BNB Chain more appealing to larger, compliance‑sensitive counterparties (x.com).

Venus Protocol has added Ceffu as a custody route for institutions that want to enter lending markets on BNB Chain without moving assets through retail-style wallets. (ceffu.com) Venus said the onboarding is aimed at institutional users, and Ceffu markets itself as an institutional digital-asset platform with cold storage, multi-party computation key management, anti-money-laundering screening, and off-exchange settlement tools. (ceffu.com) Venus is a decentralized lending protocol launched in 2020 on BNB Chain, where users post crypto collateral, borrow against it, and in some cases mint the protocol’s VAI stablecoin. Its documentation says the current version is focused on risk management, decentralization, and user experience. (docs-v4.venus.io) BNB Chain has spent the past year tying that lending stack to more regulated products. In October 2025, BNB Chain and China Merchants Bank International Asset Management put a money market fund with more than $3.8 billion in assets onchain and said Venus would be one of the protocols supporting its use as collateral and yield infrastructure. (bnbchain.org) That push targets a specific problem in decentralized finance: large firms often want yield or borrowing access, but they also want named custodians, role-based approvals, and compliance checks before moving funds. Ceffu says its platform offers ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, SOC 2 Type 2 attestation, and configurable transaction approvals. (ceffu.com) Venus already sits near the center of BNB Chain’s lending market. BNB Chain’s DappBay directory describes Venus as the chain’s main decentralized finance lending and stablecoin protocol, live since 2020. (dappbay.bnbchain.org) Ceffu is not new to the BNB Chain ecosystem either. In 2023, it said it was partnering with the BNB Chain Kickstart program to provide enterprise-grade custody services for projects building on the network. (ceffu.com) The open question is whether custody integrations turn into actual balances onchain. Venus has the lending rails, BNB Chain has been adding tokenized fund products, and Ceffu now offers the custody wrapper those clients usually require. (docs-v4.venus.io, bnbchain.org, ceffu.com)
