Michelin’s first Philippines guide is no longer just a plan: the 2026 Manila & Environs and Cebu edition was formally launched in Singapore on April 22. (philippine-embassy.org.sg) The launch came after Michelin unveiled its inaugural Philippines restaurant selection on October 30, 2025, at Manila Marriott Hotel in Newport World Resorts. Michelin said that first edition covered Metro Manila, Cebu, and nearby dining destinations including Pampanga, Tagaytay, and Cavite. (guide.michelin.com, guide.michelin.com) That matters because Michelin’s restaurant guides and hotel lists do different jobs. The restaurant guide rates places to eat with Stars, Bib Gourmand, and Selected entries, while Michelin’s hotel platform curates bookable stays separately from the restaurant awards. (guide.michelin.com, guide.michelin.com) The Philippines is now appearing in both parts of that system. Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay has been added to Michelin’s hotel selection, joining Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan in Cebu as another Philippine property on the platform. (guide.michelin.com, guide.michelin.com, malaya.com.ph) Michelin’s Boracay listing describes a 192-room resort at Punta Bunga Cove in Barangay Yapak, with 3,000 square meters of private white-sand beach and three ocean-facing infinity pools. Its Cebu listing for Crimson Mactan describes a 290-room resort in Seascapes Resort Town, Sitio Dap-Dap, Soong. (guide.michelin.com, guide.michelin.com) On the food side, Michelin’s first Philippines restaurant guide gave one restaurant two Stars and eight restaurants one Star. Michelin also published a Bib Gourmand list for lower-priced standouts and a broader Selected list for other recommended addresses. (guide.michelin.com, guide.michelin.com, guide.michelin.com) The Philippine Embassy in Singapore tied the April 22 launch to Filipino Food Month and called it “a major milestone” for Filipino cuisine. The embassy said the pocket guidebook was presented during a tourism and culinary promotion event in Singapore. (philippine-embassy.org.sg) For travelers, that means the Philippines is now being marketed through Michelin as both a dining destination and a luxury-stay destination. For restaurants and resorts, it means Manila, Cebu, Boracay, and nearby food hubs are now being filtered through one of travel’s most recognizable guide brands.
