Anyma was put back on Coachella’s Weekend 1 schedule Sunday night after high winds canceled his planned Friday midnight set. (ocregister.com) The Orange County Register reported that Anyma was moved to the Do LaB stage to close the festival Sunday, replacing the main-stage debut he had been set to deliver late Friday. The Los Angeles Times also reported Sunday that he had been rescheduled after the cancellation. (ocregister.com) (latimes.com) Friday’s show was called off about 15 minutes after its scheduled midnight start on the Coachella Stage. Coachella said strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build made the performance unsafe to continue. (billboard.com) (edm.com) Anyma had been booked to unveil “ÆDEN,” a new live production he said he had spent a year building. EDM.com reported that the set was also expected to include special guests, including Lisa of Blackpink. (edm.com) The change reshaped the last hours of Coachella’s first weekend because Anyma had originally been one of the festival’s latest and largest Friday draws. Moving him from the main stage to Do LaB turned a headline-scale production into a late-night side-stage closer. (billboard.com) (ocregister.com) Weather had already been a problem across the desert before the cancellation. Forecasts for Coachella weekend called for gusts as high as 35 miles per hour, and the South Coast Air Quality Management District extended a windblown dust advisory for the Coachella Valley. (ocregister.com) (aqmd.gov) Coachella’s own rules gave organizers little room to push a giant set later into the night. The festival says venue curfew is 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and midnight on Sunday, and it warns that lineups and set times can change without notice. (coachella.com) The festival is also streaming seven stages on YouTube this year, which turned schedule changes into part of the event for fans watching from home as well as people in Indio. Coachella’s livestream page says Weekend 1 runs April 10 through April 12. (coachella.com) Anyma’s rescheduled close gave Coachella a second shot at one of its most anticipated electronic sets, even if it came on a different stage and under a different clock.
