The "Música Pa’ Mandar A Volar Vol. 2” showcase brings together stars for romantic and emotional performances. Why did The Mars Volta and Moby cancel their performances?

Vive Latino, an annual music festival in Mexico City, has been held since 1998, with the exceptions of 1999, 2002, and 2021. It is known as one of the most important music festivals in Mexico, showcasing a variety of genres from Ibero-America and beyond. The festival typically takes place in March or April at the Foro Sol. This year, however, The Mars Volta and Moby have canceled their performances due to "unforeseen circumstances". Moby's cancellation, announced in February, led to the quick addition of Steve Aoki to the lineup. The Mars Volta's cancellation was announced more recently, leaving fans disappointed. The Mars Volta was scheduled to perform on March 15th and was a highly anticipated act. The band had previously performed at Vive Latino in 2004. Following the announcement of the cancellation, fans took to social media to express their disappointment, with some suggesting potential replacements. Vive Latino has grown to incorporate diverse musical genres, urban art displays, and cultural activities. The festival has included international acts and has expanded to include multiple stages and activities like comedy and lucha libre. In 2024, Vive Latino had over 80,000 attendees each day.
