F1 Arcade to Open in River North
The world's first official Formula 1 hospitality concept, F1 Arcade, is scheduled to open this summer in Chicago's River North. The entertainment venue will occupy the former Rock Bottom Brewery site, adding a significant new attraction to the neighborhood.
The new F1 Arcade is part of a broader "competitive socializing" or "eatertainment" trend that has seen success in Chicago. This concept, which combines activities with high-quality food and drinks, is particularly appealing to young professionals. The model has proven resilient, attracting consumers who are increasingly prioritizing experiences over material goods. The Chicago venue will feature 70 full-motion racing simulators, allowing guests to experience driving on iconic Formula 1 circuits. A key differentiator for the River North location will be the brand's first-ever rooftop terrace, intended as a destination for socializing with skyline views. The food and beverage program is designed to be upscale, featuring globally inspired dishes, shareable plates like Wagyu sliders and seafood towers, and a cocktail menu curated by a "Drink Masters" champion. F1 Arcade is a venture from Kindred Concepts, founded by Adam Breeden, a pioneer in the competitive socializing scene with successful brands like Flight Club, Bounce, and Puttshack. The company has secured significant funding for its ambitious international expansion, with backing from notable names including Liberty Media, Formula 1, and McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown. This development adds a high-end entertainment option to River North, targeting a demographic that values premium, experience-based outings. The venue will host official Formula 1 watch parties, positioning itself as a central hub for motorsport fans. It also accommodates private and corporate events, signaling a focus on the corporate and celebratory market segments.
