Adobe Stock redesign

Adobe relaunched Adobe Stock with a focus on improved content discovery and curation to help enterprises find usable assets faster and extract more value from creative workflows. Analysts contrasted Midjourney's raw image strength with Firefly's integration into Illustrator and Photoshop and flagged Firefly as an easier option to justify for workflows that need copyright-safe assets. Adobe relaunched Adobe Stock on April 13 with a redesigned site aimed at helping teams find, edit, and license assets faster. (blog.adobe.com) Adobe said the new Adobe Stock includes an “AI Studio” that lets users refine images and video, search for music, and use Type to Edit to change details like lighting, expressions, wardrobe colors, and time of day from one place. Adobe said its library now spans “nearly a billion” images, videos, music tracks, illustrations, and other assets. (blog.adobe.com) Keith Kirkpatrick of Futurum Group said the redesign is “not just a user experience refresh” but a bid to keep Adobe Stock relevant as generative artificial intelligence floods the market with more content. He wrote that enterprise buyers will judge the overhaul on whether it shortens campaign cycles, improves brand control, and produces measurable return on investment. (futurumgroup.com) Adobe is tying that pitch to Firefly, its family of image, vector, video, and audio generation models built into Creative Cloud software. Adobe said in February 2025 that Firefly connects directly with Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Express, and other apps so teams can move from idea to production without leaving Adobe’s stack. (news.adobe.com) The copyright question sits underneath the product strategy. Adobe says Firefly is trained on licensed content and public-domain material, and it markets Firefly outputs as safe for commercial use. (adobe.com) For enterprise buyers, Adobe also offers contractual protection on some Firefly features. Adobe’s Firefly product description says intellectual property indemnification applies only to listed features, surfaces, and export events, not every generative tool by default. (helpx.adobe.com) Adobe is also separating stock licensing from artificial intelligence usage costs. Its generative credits frequently asked questions say Adobe Stock credits and generative credits are different, while team and enterprise plans can pool generative credits across users. (helpx.adobe.com) Adobe Stock is also taking more artificial intelligence-made material into the marketplace. Adobe’s contributor rules say Adobe Stock accepts generative artificial intelligence content if it meets the company’s quality, legal, and technical standards. (helpx.adobe.com) The redesign turns Adobe Stock into more than a catalog: Adobe is positioning it as a search, editing, and licensing layer inside the same workflow where many design teams already use Photoshop and Illustrator. That makes the contest less about who can generate the flashiest image and more about who can get approved work into campaigns with the fewest extra steps. (blog.adobe.com)
