Hearthstone Expansion Goes Live

Hearthstone's latest expansion "Deathwing Strikes Back in CATACLYSM" is now live, introducing new cards and mechanics into the digital CCG ecosystem. The 34.6.1 hotfix patch was just released, addressing balance and gameplay tweaks for competitive players.

- The "CATACLYSM" expansion introduces 135 new collectible cards and was released on March 17th. - Two new keywords have been introduced: "Herald" and "Shatter". "Herald" summons a Colossal minion's appendage, and using it multiple times upgrades both the appendages and Deathwing himself. "Shatter" causes a drawn card to split into two halves that are sent to opposite ends of your hand; if they are brought back together, they combine into a more powerful single card. - The "Colossal" keyword, first seen in the "Voyage to the Sunken City" expansion, returns, with each class receiving a new Legendary Colossal minion. - The expansion's narrative follows an alternate timeline created by Murozond where Deathwing was never defeated and is now invading Azeroth with six lieutenants. - The 34.6.1 hotfix was a server-side patch, meaning no download was required for players. - Specific changes in the hotfix included a bug fix for "Farseer Wo" to correctly continue generating spells after a rewind effect. - For Battlegrounds players, the hotfix adjusted the Tavern Tier of "Turquoise Skitterer" to 5 (from 4) and boosted the Battlecry for "Forest Rover" to give Beetles +2/+1 for the game (up from +1/+1). - Players who log in during this period will receive the Legendary card "Warmaster Blackhorn" for free.
