RedRun turns travel into races

AirAsia’s RedRun 2026 series will mobilize over 100,000 runners across seven Asian cities — Da Nang, Bali, Phuket and Taipei among them — combining road racing with curated local tourism experiences []. It’s an easy way to stack fitness travel with destination time and local food discovery.

AirAsia’s official release adds Kota Kinabalu, Cebu and Surabaya to the 2026 RedRun roster, expanding the series’ city list beyond earlier reports. (newsroom.airasia.com) Kota Kinabalu is scheduled for 28 June 2026 with Super Early Bird entries priced from MYR59 and registration open until 27 June 2026. (newsroom.airasia.com) Organisers confirmed three race categories — 5KM, 10KM and 21KM — and say the half-marathon will use an RFID timing system for competitive results. (newsroom.airasia.com) Third‑party event listings show runner entitlements including Ultron event jerseys, drawstring bags, finisher medals for each distance and a separate finisher jersey specifically for 21KM finishers. (jomrun.com) AirAsia is packaging RedRun with travel deals — the company is offering bundled flight and hotel promotions and has announced a grand prize of free flights for a year as part of its race incentives. (newsroom.airasia.com) Capitalising on a 2025 launch, AirAsia positions RedRun as a network-driven campaign to connect active travellers across its route map, a strategy underscored by CCO Amanda Woo’s statement on growing the series into a regional movement.
