Nike Unveils A'ja Wilson's A'Two
Nike officially unveiled A'ja Wilson's second signature sneaker, the Nike A'Two, launching May 2 at $145. Features a synthetic molded upper and forefoot Zoom Air unit for enhanced cushioning. Nike also introduced the Giannis Freak 8 for August launch with full-length ReactX midsole.
A'ja Wilson is one of only a dozen WNBA players to have a signature shoe, a list that began with Sheryl Swoopes in 1995. The A'Two builds on the success of her first signature model, the A'One, which became a popular on-court choice in the WNBA. The design of the A'Two continues the pearl motif from the A'One, a nod to a pearl necklace gifted to Wilson by her grandmother. This design element is integrated into the new synthetic molded upper, which aims to provide stability and a personalized fit over time. The debut "A'Pink" colorway reflects Wilson's passion and energy. Technical upgrades from the A'One include the addition of a midfoot shank for better control and an upgraded heel clip for reinforcement. The shoe also incorporates a Cushlon 3.0 midsole for soft landings and springy takeoffs. Alongside the sneaker, Wilson is releasing a seven-piece apparel collection for adults and kids. The collection is designed to blend performance needs with Wilson's personal style and includes her signature asymmetrical leg sleeve. The launch of a second signature shoe signals Nike's long-term commitment to Wilson as a key athlete. Her line's popularity has drawn comparisons to the successful Nike Sabrina series for fellow WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu. The Giannis Freak 8, also mentioned, features a full-length ReactX midsole for cushioning and a synthetic upper designed to keep the foot secure during explosive movements. The design includes a reinforced heel counter with a feather pattern, reminiscent of wings. Antetokounmpo was committed to keeping the price the same as the Freak 7 to ensure accessibility for younger players.
