The CAP Foundation is starting a free three-part webinar series on April 21 aimed at helping laboratory leaders tighten quality management without adding staff or equipment. (foundation.cap.org) The program, called “Enhancing Laboratory Management Operations Globally,” is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, Tuesday, June 23, and Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with each session listed at 1:00 p.m. Eastern for North America. The CAP Foundation says the series is free. (foundation.cap.org) The College of American Pathologists Foundation says the sessions focus on using existing systems better, not buying more capacity. Its event page says “adept management and systems can be critical to a quality lab” even when budgets and equipment are limited. (foundation.cap.org) Quality management in a laboratory is the operating system behind test results: staff training, document control, error tracking, and checks that keep samples moving correctly from collection to reporting. The College of American Pathologists lists laboratory management, leadership, competency assessment, and quality system training among its education offerings. (education.cap.org) That focus lands as Medical Laboratory Professionals Week runs from April 19 through April 25, 2026, putting extra attention on staffing, workflow, and retention across clinical labs. The American Society for Clinical Pathology lists those dates for Lab Week 2026. (ascp.org) The webinar series also fits into the CAP Foundation’s broader global education push. A recent Clinical Lab report said the foundation’s Global Pathology Committee has supported more than 100 pathologists in 45 countries through webinars, awards, and grants tied to education, patient care, laboratory quality, and technology. (clinicallab.com) CAP’s own training catalog shows the same emphasis in paid and member education, including courses on competency in the clinical laboratory, building a quality management system, and document control. The new foundation series packages that management playbook into a free format for a wider audience. (medialab.com) Registration is already live on the CAP Foundation site, and the first session begins Tuesday, April 21. The pitch is straightforward: better lab performance can start with process and management before any new spending does. (foundation.cap.org)
