Tsitsipas achieved this milestone by partnering with Novak Djokovic in doubles at the Indian Wells Masters. They defeated defending champions Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavić in their first match together. Tsitsipas had previously played doubles with both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at the Laver Cup in 2019. However, those matches resulted in narrow defeats for Team Europe. By teaming up with Djokovic, Tsitsipas became the first player to share the court with all three icons of the sport's "Big 3" in official matches. This victory was especially sweet for Tsitsipas after the previous losses alongside Federer and Nadal. The Indian Wells Open, also known as the BNP Paribas Open, is a prestigious event held annually in Indian Wells, California. Founded in 1976, it has grown to be the most-attended tennis tournament outside the four Grand Slams. Often called the "fifth Grand Slam", the tournament attracts top players and large crowds. Despite the doubles win, Tsitsipas experienced an early exit in the singles competition at Indian Wells. As a result, he is projected to drop out of the ATP top 50 for the first time since 2018.
