Jrue Holiday Drops Season-High 35
Portland Trail Blazers beat Memphis Grizzlies 122-114 behind Jrue Holiday's season-high 35 points. Holiday's all-around performance was pivotal as he orchestrated the offense and delivered in clutch moments. The win gives Portland much-needed momentum as they look to climb the Western Conference standings.
Jrue Holiday's 35 points weren't just a season-high, they came with impressive efficiency. He shot 13-for-19 from the field, including a remarkable 8-for-11 from three-point range, and also dished out 11 assists for a double-double. The performance surpassed his previous season-best of 31 points. Holiday's scoring explosion was part of a dominant offensive effort from Portland's veterans. Jerami Grant poured in 30 points, while Robert Williams III added a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double. This offensive outburst was critical as the Trail Blazers were without their leading scorer, All-Star Deni Avdija, who is nearing a return from injury. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Portland and marked just their third victory in the last seven games. The Memphis Grizzlies entered the contest severely shorthanded. They were playing the second game of a back-to-back and had only eight players available due to a string of injuries. Notably, star point guard Ja Morant missed his 19th consecutive game with a left elbow injury. Despite the loss, several young Grizzlies players stepped up. Jaylen Wells led the team with 24 points, and GG Jackson added 20. Forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper, who had just signed a multi-year contract, contributed 17 points and nine rebounds. With the victory, the Trail Blazers improved their record to 30-33 as they continue to fight for a spot in the postseason. For the Grizzlies, it was their fifth loss in the last seven games.
