COD 2026: Modern Warfare?

Infinity Ward is leading development for Call of Duty 2026, and a new Modern Warfare title is expected. This marks Infinity Ward's return to the helm, increasing speculation about a new installment in the Modern Warfare series. Infinity Ward was founded in 2002 by former members of 2015, Inc.. The studio's initial success came with the first *Call of Duty* in 2003, setting the stage for their dominance in the FPS genre. The potential for nostalgic content is high, considering the success of *Modern Warfare* (2019) which reimagined the original series. Fan-favorite characters like Ghost may also appear. Missions or maps from older *Modern Warfare* games could be remade. However, some leakers have said that *Modern Warfare 4's* multiplayer is a "complete copy" of *Modern Warfare 2*, which may indicate a lack of innovation. Infinity Ward responded to these leaks by saying "Don't believe everything you read on the Internet".
