TECNO Unveils AI-Powered Phones
TECNO is set to unveil its new AI-powered CAMON 50 smartphone series at MWC 2026 in Barcelona. The launch will also feature a broader AI product ecosystem, signaling the company's focus on integrating artificial intelligence across its flagship devices.
TECNO's CAMON series, first launched in 2015, has long been the brand's camera-centric line, focusing on bringing enhanced photography features to mid-range devices. Early models like the C5 and C8 were noted for their improved low-light performance at a time when budget smartphones often struggled in that area. The company's focus on artificial intelligence isn't new; past CAMON models have incorporated AI-driven features like "AI Beautification" and "Super Night Mode". This strategy is part of a broader "Practical AI" framework TECNO introduced in 2024, aimed at developing useful AI tools for emerging markets. In 2025 alone, the company processed over 500 million user requests through its AI, with half being in non-English languages. This MWC 2026 announcement signifies a deeper integration of AI across TECNO's entire product line. The company's AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) ecosystem has been expanding since 2019 and now includes laptops, smartwatches, AR glasses, and even a robotic dog named Dynamic 1. The new CAMON 50 series will feature Sony camera hardware paired with a dedicated AI computing architecture. This enables features like "Super-Zoom FlashSnap" for high-speed photography without shutter lag and "AI Auto Zoom" for intelligent subject framing. In a move to blend high-tech with luxury design, TECNO is also announcing a strategic partnership with Tonino Lamborghini at MWC 2026. The collaboration will result in co-created devices, including a special edition of the POVA Metal smartphone and a gaming mini-PC.
