Camping spot 'secret' revealed
@OffRoadCampBoys shared their secret to finding epic overlanding campsites: remote national forest/BLM roads accessible with aired-down tires and a compressor [https://x.com/OffRoadCampBoys/status/2031028392594739358].
That "secret" isn't much of a secret to anyone who's been overlanding for a while, but it's a good reminder. Overlanding is about self-reliance and getting away from established campgrounds. BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and National Forest land often have dispersed camping opportunities. Dispersed camping means no designated sites, hookups, or amenities, but it's free and often more private. Airing down tires increases the contact patch, improving traction on loose surfaces like sand and gravel. A compressor is then essential to reinflate the tires to normal road pressure.
