Rail‑coach parts order secured

Oriental Rail Infrastructure said it has won a ₹1.57 crore order from Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala for seats and berths used inside Linke Hofmann Busch coaches. (bseindia.com) The company disclosed the order on April 13, 2026 under Securities and Exchange Board of India listing rules. The contract covers the manufacture, supply and installation of 25 sets for Linke Hofmann Busch general second-class coaches, with execution due by September 28, 2026. (bseindia.com) Rail Coach Factory, or RCF, is one of Indian Railways’ main coach-building units, and Kapurthala has been a regular buyer of interior fittings for Linke Hofmann Busch stock. Oriental Rail said 95% of the contract value is payable on dispatch and inspection clearance, with the remaining 5% due after consignee acceptance. (bseindia.com) Linke Hofmann Busch coaches are the stainless-steel passenger cars now standard on many long-distance Indian trains, replacing older Integral Coach Factory designs on much of the network. Seats, berths, panels and other interior parts are bought in batches as factories turn out new coaches and refurbish existing ones. (railanalysis.in) For Oriental Rail, the order adds to a business that has shifted far beyond its older veneer roots into rail products such as seats, berths, densified thermal bonded blocks and coach interior materials. The company’s 2024-25 annual report says it supplies a range of products to Indian Railways and related industries. (orientalrail.com) The company has won similar coach-interior work before. In 2025, it disclosed a ₹3.98 crore order from the same Kapurthala factory for Linke Hofmann Busch chair-car seating, and in 2024 industry reports tracked another Kapurthala seating order worth about ₹2.15 crore. (capitalmarket.com) (railanalysis.in) The April 13 filing also said the buyer is a domestic entity, the transaction does not involve related parties, and no promoter-group company has an interest in it. Those disclosures are required in stock-exchange notices when listed companies report new contracts. (bseindia.com) The next checkpoint is delivery: Oriental Rail now has until late September 2026 to complete a small but specific slice of India’s passenger-coach supply chain. (bseindia.com)
