Tampa is bracing for a BTS weekend that city officials say will bring more than 60,000 fans a night to Raymond James Stadium. (tampa.gov) The City of Tampa’s April 20 traffic advisory lists BTS shows at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26, and says the group will return for a third stadium date on Tuesday, April 28. The same advisory says Tampa Bay Boulevard will close at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, and reopen at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29. (tampa.gov) Raymond James Stadium’s event calendar also lists three BTS dates — April 25, 26 and 28 — and its ticketing page shows the two weekend concerts starting at 8 p.m. at 4201 N. Dale Mabry Highway. Ticketmaster says the stadium box office is open only on event days. (raymondjamesstadium.com, ticketmaster.com) The concerts land in the middle of a packed Tampa weekend. The city advisory also lists Varsity Spirit cheerleading at the Tampa Convention Center, Black Heritage Music Fest at Curtis Hixon Park, shows at the Straz Center, a Tampa Bay Sun match, and a K-Pop Asian Night Market at Perry Harvey Park. (tampa.gov) That matters for anyone moving through West Tampa or downtown, not just concertgoers. The city is urging people to use the TECO Line Streetcar, DASH service, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit buses, scooters and bikes, and it points drivers to its road-closure and parking pages for updates. (tampa.gov, tampa.gov) The Tampa dates are part of BTS WORLD TOUR “ARIRANG,” which Ticketmaster says includes 41 shows across the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and Europe. Ticketmaster’s help page says U.S. and Canada fans were routed through a face-value ticket request system that closed on April 14, with fulfillment emails due by the end of Tuesday, April 21. (help.ticketmaster.com) Local coverage earlier this year described Tampa as the first North American stop on the tour and reported that the production would use a 360-degree, in-the-round stage. FOX 13 initially reported two Tampa dates, before city and stadium listings showed a third show on April 28. (fox13news.com, raymondjamesstadium.com) For fans, the practical takeaway is simple: check the specific date on your ticket, expect an 8 p.m. start on the listed weekend shows, and leave extra time around Raymond James as the road closure and crowd plan stretch from April 22 through April 29.
