CLAY LA opens Friday, April 24, for a three-day ceramic market and fundraiser at Craft Contemporary on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. (craftcontemporary.org) The 2026 edition is the event’s ninth, with a preview night scheduled for Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 5814 Wilshire Blvd. Preview tickets are $15 for members and $20 for the general public. (craftcontemporary.org) The public market continues Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with $9 museum admission, and Sunday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with pay-what-you-wish entry. The market is set in the museum’s outdoor courtyard. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary describes CLAY LA as its signature ceramic marketplace and fundraiser, with proceeds supporting the museum’s mission, programs, and ceramics work. PBS SoCal’s weekly roundup listed the event as one of the region’s featured picks for April 20-26. (craftcontemporary.org, pbssocal.org) The event is built around direct sales from makers, with emerging and established ceramic artists from across Los Angeles and beyond selling work in person. Craft Contemporary says hundreds of artists have participated over the years and thousands of visitors have attended. (craftcontemporary.org) This year’s listed vendors include Angel Prudencio, Chunmei Ceramics, FHAR Studio, Greg Lowe Arts, Hugh Remar Los Angeles, People’s Pottery Project, Tierra del Sol, and Yunting Ceramics, among others. Discover Los Angeles says the weekend market will also have food and drinks for purchase from Seedy and Wawa Coffee Stand on Saturday and Sunday. (craftcontemporary.org, discoverlosangeles.com) The weekend also includes free drop-in air-dry clay activities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with materials donated by Laguna Clay & Glaze Co. Craft Contemporary is also running a daily opportunity drawing tied to selected works from participating artists. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary’s current season already includes exhibitions running through May 10, and CLAY LA adds a sales event to that museum traffic this weekend. For visitors, the pitch is simple: shop ceramics, meet the makers, and do it during the museum’s busiest public hours of the week. (craftcontemporary.org, craftcontemporary.org)
