The latest roadmap for Disney Speedstorm, a free-to-play combat racer developed by Gameloft Barcelona, outlines a content strategy extending through June 2026. The plan focuses on introducing new characters and environments from iconic Disney and Pixar properties, a common live-service model for maintaining player engagement. Gameloft Barcelona is the studio behind the long-running Asphalt racing series, bringing years of experience in the arcade racing genre to this title. The newly announced roadmap details the themes for the next three seasons of the game. Season 18, which launched in February 2026, is themed around *Cars*. Following that, Season 19 in April will have a "Villains" theme, and Season 20 in June will introduce characters and a new racing environment from *Peter Pan*. Each season is slated to add three new main racers and two additional mid-season racers. This roadmap serves as a critical tool for a game that has shown mixed performance indicators. While Vivendi's Q3 2025 report listed Disney Speedstorm as one of Gameloft's top five best-selling games for the first nine months of 2025, public data from Steam shows a significant decline in its player base since its free-to-play launch. Such a content plan is a key product management strategy to reinvigorate the daily active user count and create predictable revenue streams. The game initially launched in a paid early access period on April 18, 2023, before transitioning to a full free-to-play model on September 28, 2023. A global mobile release followed on July 11, 2024, expanding the game's potential audience and platform availability. As of February 2026, the game features a roster of 117 characters from 34 different Disney and Pixar franchises.
