Chef José Andrés Releases New Cookbook

Chef and humanitarian José Andrés, leader of the World Central Kitchen, has released a new cookbook. The book is described as a collection of life lessons and insights from his career operating over forty restaurants and leading extensive social impact work.

- The new cookbook is titled "Zaytinya: Delicious Mediterranean Dishes from Greece, Turkey, and Lebanon," and it features 150 recipes from Andrés's celebrated restaurant of the same name. - This is one of two recent books from the chef; his memoir, "Change the Recipe," is scheduled for release in April 2025. - His restaurant empire, the José Andrés Group, currently operates more than 50 restaurants across the United States and internationally. - In February 2026, the José Andrés Group announced a leadership change, with David Strasser taking over the role of CEO from Sam Bakhshandehpour. - World Central Kitchen (WCK) has served more than 450 million meals to people impacted by crises worldwide since its inception in 2010. - In early 2026, WCK reached a significant milestone, serving one million hot meals per day in Gaza. - In January 2025, Andrés was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States, for his culinary and humanitarian contributions. - Andrés's humanitarian work has earned him numerous accolades, including a 2024 Nobel Peace Prize nomination and the 2023 Lions International Humanitarian Award.
