Solid Snake Joins Rainbow Six
Rainbow Six Siege launched "Operation Silent Hunt" featuring Solid Snake as a playable operator. The season introduces detection radar, signature Metal Gear weapons, and themed missions that blend classic stealth mechanics with Siege's competitive tactical gameplay.
This collaboration marks the beginning of Year 11 for Rainbow Six Siege, with "Operation Silent Hunt" being the first season of the new year. The full reveal of the new season and Solid Snake as an operator took place on February 15, 2026, during the Year 11 Roadmap Showcase. As an attacker, Solid Snake is a three-speed, one-armor operator, emphasizing stealth and information gathering. His unique gadget is the Soliton Radar Mk. III, a handheld device that displays a minimap and marks nearby enemies, who are then alerted to their detection. Snake's "On-Site Procurement" ability allows him to scavenge and use up to five different secondary gadgets from eliminated operators during a match. His loadout includes the choice of an F2 assault rifle or a PMR90A2 marksman rifle, and a new suppressed TACIT .45 handgun as his secondary weapon. This isn't the first time a major gaming icon has joined the Siege roster; Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell series was added as the operator "Zero" in 2020. The game has a history of crossovers, featuring cosmetic bundles from franchises like *Tomb Raider*, *Rick and Morty*, and *Halo*. The collaboration with Konami's *Metal Gear Solid* is considered a significant event, bringing two legendary stealth game protagonists, Solid Snake and Sam Fisher, into the same universe. While the crossover is a major content addition, it is believed to be a non-canon interpretation and not connected to the official *Metal Gear* storyline.
