50 Cent Disses T.I. in New Track

50 Cent fired back at T.I. with the new theme song for his upcoming series 'Power Origins', featuring Leon Thomas. The track debuted Thursday, March 5 with direct lyrical shots at T.I. — marking 50 Cent's first musical response since their public feud reignited last month. This escalates their ongoing rivalry that has drawn in fans on both sides.

The animosity between the two rappers dates back to at least 2007, when 50 Cent labeled T.I. a "snitch" after he received a reduced sentence on federal gun charges. The tension simmered for years, occasionally flaring up, notably in 2020 when T.I. began publicly challenging 50 Cent to a Verzuz battle, a request the G-Unit mogul largely ignored. The feud reignited in early February 2026 after T.I. appeared on the "Nightcap" podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco, claiming 50 Cent was "ducking smoke" by avoiding the Verzuz matchup. 50 Cent retaliated on social media, telling T.I. to "keep my name out ya mouth" and posting old clips related to T.I.'s past legal issues, reviving the "rat" accusations. The conflict escalated significantly when family members became involved. 50 Cent posted an unflattering photo of T.I.'s wife, Tameka "Tiny" Harris, which prompted a furious response from their son, King Harris. King Harris then targeted 50 Cent's late mother in a series of social media posts, including a picture of her gravestone. In response to his family being targeted, T.I. released a flurry of diss tracks aimed at 50 Cent, including "War" and "The Right One." While 50 Cent primarily used social media for his attacks, his first musical response came with the "Power Origins" theme song, escalating the lyrical battle. T.I. later expressed regret over his son's comments about 50 Cent's mother, stating it was "too far." The new track also serves as the theme for "Power Origins," a prequel to the popular Starz series "Power," which is executive produced by 50 Cent. The new show will explore the backstory of the main characters Ghost and Tommy and is expected to be released in 2026. The featured artist on the track, Leon Thomas, is a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and producer who previously starred in the Nickelodeon show "Victorious." He has co-written and produced for major artists like Drake, SZA, and Ariana Grande, winning a Grammy for his work on SZA's hit song "Snooze."
