(tribuneindia.com) The longest outages are in Zirakpur on Wednesday, April 23, and Friday, April 25, where many urban localities are set to lose power from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Tribune listed Maya Garden, Singhpura, Nagla, PR-7 Road, Patiala Road, Chandigarh Road, Krishna Nagar and Harmilap Nagar among the affected areas. (tribuneindia.com) Kharar-side areas linked to the 66 kV Sunny Enclave grid were scheduled for an April 22 shutdown from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for 66 kV line augmentation. New Sunny and Old Sunny Colonies, Sectors 123, 124 and 125, Hussainpur, Manana, Jhampur, Jandpur, Thaska and several nearby villages were named in the notice. (tribuneindia.com) In Mohali town, residents have already seen shorter daytime cuts. The Tribune reported outages of about two to four hours on April 22, while specific pockets including Phase 3B2, Phase 3A, Phase 3B1, Phase 5, IT City Block B and Sector 101 also lost supply for one to five hours on April 21. (tribuneindia.com) The utility says the shutdowns are tied to grid and distribution upgrades. The Times of India reported that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited described the work as part of efforts to strengthen and modernise the electricity distribution system, with similar daytime outages scheduled across other Punjab cities through April 26. (timesofindia.indiatimes.com) The timing is colliding with a heatwave. The India Meteorological Department said heat-wave conditions were likely over Punjab and neighboring areas during the week, and district-wise warnings published on April 22 pointed to continued heat across the plains of northwest India over the next four to five days. (mausam.imd.gov.in) (tribuneindia.com) Residents told The Times of India the cuts are disrupting water access, cooking and work-from-home routines. Jagdev Singh of Phase VII said the heat and outages were “unbearable,” while another resident from Phase 3B2 said the scheduling should have been handled better during peak summer. (timesofindia.indiatimes.com) Punjab State Power Corporation Limited maintains a public power-supply schedule on its website, where shutdown notices and related public notices are posted. For Mohali district, that means the remaining April 25 shutdowns are now the next key date for residents and businesses planning around the heat. (pspcl.in)
